We are the Murphys. We bought our farm in February 2021 and have managed to work constantly but get very little accomplished so far :). We moved here from Arlington MA – after a year of spending every second together, we decided more space would be a very good idea! Erin is the badass mom (and website author), Mike makes the robots, and the kids (Clara, Nellie, and Declan) make a mess.

So far we have two indoor cats, Loki and Icarus, three fish (I can never remember their names), a giant dog, Doogan, that cannot decide if he lives inside or outside, 14 chickens with 45 names, and 4 barn cats, Ender, Shadow, Phineas, and Ferb. Misty was our 5th barn cat, but she managed to escape through a locked crate while acclimating and we’re not sure if she’ll come back or not. Damnit Misty.

We’re surrounded by Great Brook Farm State Park, which is an incredible spot in the northern section of Carlisle MA. From our yard, we can access thousands of acres of trails, and have no neighbors we can see. The main part of the house was built in 1842, and the main barn was built in 1891. I love living in an old house, but we’re still adjusting to it being a lot colder and draftier than we’re used to.

The previous owners had a lot of horses and their kids ran a CSA. We have 11 horse stalls, 2 barns, a bunch of sheds and run-in shelters and a nice, heated woodshop! We also have a LARGE hoop house and a small greenhouse. We’ve got big plans, and are learning that we can’t accomplish everything. Yet.

We want vaccinations get moving so we can see our friends soon. We hope you’ll come visit! ❤
